Marks Percentage Calculator

Add up your marks across subjects, then enter the totals. Optionally see what you need in the papers still to come.

Fill in the fields — the answer appears as you type.

Think an answer is wrong? Report it with your inputs.

How it's calculated

  • Percentage = marks obtained ÷ total marks × 100
  • Marks needed = target% × (total so far + remaining) − obtained

Worked example

412 out of 500 = 82.4%.

Assumptions and limits

  • All subjects carry equal weight per mark. For credit-weighted results, use a weighted average instead.
  • 'Marks needed' is rounded up to the next whole mark.

Common questions

Should I include practical marks?

Include whatever your board or university includes in the aggregate. Many boards count practicals; some admission forms ask for theory only.
