Final Exam Score Calculator — What Do I Need?
Enter your score so far (internals, assignments, mid-terms) as a percentage, how much the final exam counts, and the overall percentage you want.
Fill in the fields — the answer appears as you type.
Think an answer is wrong? Report it with your inputs.
How it's calculated
- Needed = (target − current × (1 − w)) ÷ w
- w = final exam weight ÷ 100
Worked example
78% so far, final worth 60%, target 80% → you need 81.33% in the final.
Load this example into the calculatorAssumptions and limits
- Your current percentage already covers everything except the final.
- Passing minimums in the final itself (e.g. 40% in the end-sem) are separate rules — check them too.
Common questions
My internals are out of 40, not a percentage — what do I enter?
Convert it first: 30 out of 40 internal marks is 75%, so enter 75 as your current score. If the end-sem is worth the remaining 60 marks of 100, enter 60 as the final exam's weight.
